About

There will be a Branch social evening on Friday 4th December at the Sportsman in Strines (on the Marple to New Mills road) at which there will be a presentation of a certificate for the Branch's Pub of the Seasonal (Winter). The social will start at around 7.30pm, all welcome.
NB the landlord is putting on a few beers requested by Branch Members, so well worth the trip.

Please note that the Glossop Beer Festival 2009 has been cancelled. We hope to rerun it in 2010.

The branch covers a large area including Buxton, Glossop and much of the Peak District National Park along with a small part of Cheshire around Poynton and Disley, and in contrast it also includes most of the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside, which takes in Ashton under Lyne, Hyde and Mossley.

The branch has over 600 members, who meet regularly to enjoy beers and pubs on offer. The branch also runs regular trips to pubs and breweries in and around the branch area, and also further afield. The branch runs a trip over a long weekend early in the year to another part of the UK. The branch also runs a foreign trip every autumn, and has visited places as diverse as Lithuania, New York and Stuttgart.

The branch has hosted about 50 beer festivals since being formed. It runs an annual beer tent to at the Glossop Victorian Weekend every September. This festival specialises in new and rare microbrewery beers and probably the only beer festival on the calendar where the customers have been known to arrive in traction engines!

Do come to one of our meetings or socials or phone or email if you would like more information.
