About

The branch covers a large area including Buxton, Glossop and much of the Peak District National Park along with a small part of Cheshire around Poynton and Disley, and in contrast it also includes most of the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside, which takes in Ashton under Lyne, Hyde and Mossley.

The branch has over 600 members, who meet regularly to enjoy beers and pubs on offer. The branch also runs regular trips to pubs and breweries in and around the branch area, and also further afield. The branch runs a trip over a long weekend early in the year to another part of the UK. The branch also runs a foreign trip every autumn, and has visited places as diverse as Lithuania, New York and Stuttgart.

Branch AGM, The Sportsman Hyde

This pub is one the edge of the town centre on The Mottram road just past the Morrisons supermarket
Bus 201 stops outside, the pub is about 10 minutes walk fro the bus station, nearest railway station is Newton for Hyde on the Glossop line (10 minutes walk) on the Manchester to Glossop/ Hadfield line or allow 20 minutes walk from Hyde central on the Manchester to Rose Hill line
There will a stroll to some other Hyde pubs after the meeting has closed

This year the branch are planning a foreign trip to Vienna in September
We will be visiting as many local breweries as possible in the Vienna area and also look at some trip further a field including Bratislava in Slovenia which about 2 hours away.
