The branch covers a large area including Buxton, Glossop and much of the Peak District National Park along with a small part of Cheshire around Poynton and Disley, and in contrast it also includes most of the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside, which takes in Ashton under Lyne, Hyde and Mossley.

The branch has over 600 members, who meet regularly to enjoy beers and pubs on offer. The branch also runs regular trips to pubs and breweries in and around the branch area, and also further afield. The branch runs a trip over a long weekend early in the year to another part of the UK. The branch also runs a foreign trip every autumn, and has visited places as diverse as Lithuania, New York and Stuttgart.

Our October meeting is at the Chalkers Snooker club in New Mills. This is located on the A6 in the Newton area and close to new mills Newton railway station; there are also buses on the A6 from Stockport, other buses from Marple and Hayfield drop you off in New Mills town centre which is a 15 minute walk away
