The branch covers a large area including Buxton, Glossop and much of the Peak District National Park along with a small part of Cheshire around Poynton and Disley, and in contrast it also includes most of the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside, which takes in Ashton under Lyne, Hyde and Mossley.

The branch has over 600 members, who meet regularly to enjoy beers and pubs on offer. The branch also runs regular trips to pubs and breweries in and around the branch area, and also further afield. The branch runs a trip over a long weekend early in the year to another part of the UK. The branch also runs a foreign trip every autumn, and has visited places as diverse as Lithuania, New York and Stuttgart.

The Harewood Arms, inn Broadbottom (Between Hyde and Glossop) has been awarded the best pub in Greater Manchester making it one of the top 16 pubs in the country.
To celebrate this achievement an award by the Regional Camra Chairman will be made at 20.00 hrs at this pub.
The pub is less than 5 minutes walk from Broadbottom railway station on the Manchester to Glossop / Hadfield line
